In this third message of the First Epistle of John series, Marty reminded us that we are living in “the last hour” — the entire church age between Christ’s first and second coming. John doesn’t call us to panic or chase end-times dates, but to stay alert. A clear sign of these days is the presence of “many antichrists” — false teachers who often start inside the church but eventually leave, revealing they were never truly one of us. Their departure proves the difference between mere profession and genuine possession of faith.

The great encouragement? Every true believer has received an anointing from the Holy One — the Holy Spirit Himself! He gives us discernment so we can recognize lies and stand firm in the truth we already know. No need for new revelations — just abide in the gospel we heard from the beginning.

Church, make your calling and election sure. Stay rooted in Christ, listen to the Spirit’s voice, and walk confidently in these last days. Greater is He who is in you!
